Terms & Conditions

1. Quotations & Contract Formation
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd will provide all customers with a written quotation detailing the works required. If any clarification is needed, the client must contact us so that we can provide it. Any additional works will only be undertaken following written confirmation including cost.
A ‘contract’ is formed once the client accepts the quotation (verbally or in writing) and/or pays the required deposit. Quotes remain valid for three months from the date issued.

2. Deposits & Cooling-Off Period
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total fee is required to secure a booking.
The client has a statutory 7-day cooling-off period from the date the contract is formed. If cancelled within this period, the client will receive a full refund minus reasonable administration costs.
If the client cancels after the cooling-off period or decides not to proceed on the day of booking, the deposit will be fully forfeited.
If Brick Cleaning Company Ltd cannot proceed due to circumstances outside our control and not caused by us (including lack of access, missing facilities, or incorrect information), the deposit will also be forfeited.

3. Pricing & Payment Structure
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd may vary the contract price where additional services are required or where the agreed works differ from the original quotation.
A payment plan will be provided before works commence. This typically includes:
• 50% deposit
• Staged progress payments
• Final payment on completion
Deposits allow project scheduling and procurement of materials.
Invoices will be issued ahead of payment dates and must be paid on time. Bank transfer is the preferred method of payment.
The client agrees not to withhold any payments due and must ensure that the final balance is paid on the day of completion.

4. Suspension of Works for Non-Payment & Debt Recovery
Failure to make any payment by the due date entitles Brick Cleaning Company Ltd to suspend works immediately until payment is received.
Any costs associated with suspension, remobilisation, or delays caused by non-payment will be charged to the client.
Overdue balances may accrue interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.
The client shall also be liable for any reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue amounts, including legal fees and debt recovery agency charges.

5. Project Commencement & Continuity of Work
Commencement of work is based on the assumption that works can proceed without interruption and that planning permission (if required) has been obtained by the client.
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd may request proof of planning consent before beginning work.

6. Continuation of Works & Reasonable Additional Costs
Where works are underway under an agreed quotation, the client acknowledges that certain factors may reasonably affect the labour, time, or materials required. These include, but are not limited to:
• extended labour time
• additional or different materials
• unforeseen conditions
• access limitations
• hidden defects
If such circumstances arise, the client agrees that Brick Cleaning Company Ltd is authorised to continue the works without interruption, and any reasonable additional costs required to complete the existing agreed scope shall be chargeable.
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd will notify the client of significant changes in anticipated costs where reasonably practicable, but delays in notification do not remove the client’s responsibility to pay for necessary costs incurred in good faith.
Interruptions or delays caused by the client may result in charges for wasted labour, remobilisation, or additional access costs.

7. Client-Caused Delays & Obstructions
If the company cannot carry out works due to the client’s actions, lack of access, lack of materials, other trades blocking work areas, or failure to provide required facilities (water, safe access, parking), the client will be liable for wasted labour time, delays, remobilisation fees, and associated losses.

8. Liability & External Factors
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd shall not be held liable for delays or failure to carry out works due to events beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, industrial action, fire, war, terrorism, civil unrest, or regulatory action.

9. Materials, Appearance & Pre-Existing Conditions
Brickwork, stonework, and lime mortar are natural materials and may vary in colour and finish. Exact uniformity cannot be guaranteed and is not grounds for withholding payment or requesting remedial works.
We will endeavour to use materials that best match the existing property.
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd shall not be liable for defects, cracks, damage, or deterioration that become visible only after cleaning, paint removal, or repointing has begun, as these may reflect underlying pre-existing conditions.

10. Scaffolding & Access Requirements
If scaffolding is required, it will be erected on an agreed date.
Scaffolding installed by Brick Cleaning Company Ltd will not be removed until all payments are made in full.
The client is responsible for the safety of the scaffolding while on their property and is liable for any damage.
Free access must be provided for delivery of materials, machinery, and skips. The client must supply parking permits where required.

11. Site Responsibilities & Protection of Property
Clients must remove outdoor furniture, plants, and objects that obstruct the work area.
Inside the property, clients must take steps to protect against fine dust and water ingress.
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd will take reasonable steps to protect the property using dust sheets and plastic sheeting. Additional protection can be provided at extra cost.
Our staff cannot be held responsible for breakages occurring while accessing areas of work, including when removing cables or fixtures attached to brickwork.
If electrical or decorative items cannot be removed, they will be covered to the best of our ability; however, any damage caused due to non-removal remains the client’s responsibility.

12. Definition of Completion & Snagging Procedures
Works are deemed complete once the agreed scope as set out in the quotation has been carried out.
Minor snagging items that do not affect the overall finish or structural integrity shall not delay final payment.
Snagging will be attended to within a reasonable time after the final balance has been settled.

13. Disposal of Materials
All used or removed materials remain the property of Brick Cleaning Company Ltd and will be disposed of as appropriate.

14. Subcontractors & Insurance
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd may employ subcontractors as necessary. Subcontractors are responsible for their own third-party liability.
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd holds Public Liability Insurance up to £2,000,000.

15. Data Protection
All client information is stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988 and remains strictly confidential.

16. Guarantees
A 5-year guarantee is provided when the optional breathable waterproof façade sealant is applied. No guarantees apply where the sealant is not purchased.

17. Client Responsibilities
The client must communicate requirements and expectations clearly and in writing.
Verbal instructions are not binding unless confirmed in writing by Brick Cleaning Company Ltd.

18. Cleaning & Redecorating
The client is responsible for cleaning and redecorating the property once Brick Cleaning Company Ltd has completed the agreed works.

19. Pricing Conditions
Prices assume no retentions unless previously agreed in writing.
No contractor or subcontractor discounts apply unless confirmed in writing.

20. Photographic Documentation
Brick Cleaning Company Ltd may take photographs or videos before, during, and after works for quality control, evidence of completion, or marketing.
If the client does not wish for images to be used for marketing, they must notify us at the start of the project.
